Scottish Quilt Show part 2 World Wide Whispers
The Scottish Quilt Show was the venue where the World Wide Whispers exhibit was launched. Five countries: Scotland, Ireland, The Netherlands, Canada and the USA are represented in this exhibit of 61 quilts. While having dinner after a quilting event in Scotland a couple of years ago a group of us, Ann Hill, Jeltje van Essen, Debbi Sinton Cagney, Kim Caskey and myself decided to try a patchwork Chinese whispers after Ann had told us about one she had been involved in. And so it began, we did a trial run between us ( more about that another time, the pilot project has turned into another exhibition involving over 30 countries) and then decided to work over a year and invited more quilters to join us. We each asked someone for a photograph to inspire the first quit, which was made by the team leaders and then we send a photo of our quilt onto the next in line, until we had 12 quilts from each country (13 from Canada as Canada has 13 provinces)
And so the hanging begins!
Time for a cup of tea!!
Posing once quilts were hung.
All ready and waiting for the show to start

This exhibit will be travelling some more in Scotland, then to The Netherlands, Sweden, Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, Ireland and Canada are the venues confirmed so far. We have produced a catalogue which can be punched at any of the venues the exhibit will be visiting on by contacting myself or any of the team leaders.
