EQA Exhibition Crossroads

Got a surprise at the opening of "Crossroads", one of the EQA travelling exhibits last week- a new space for exhibiting in the city, yeah!
And what a marvellous job Loretta O'Brien (the IPS EQA rep.) did on the hanging.

Loretta, Cecillia and the mayor Michael Sheahan doing the honours at the opening.

Eighteen countries make up the EQA now, that's the European Quilt Assocation. Every year the reps meet at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham to organise and hang a group show and to plan the theme for the next years show. The quilts travel to all the EQA countries and eventually make their way back home after about two years or so. It's a pleasant surprise getting a piece back as I usually forget about it!!!

Close up of one of the pieces.
Five quilts were hung from each country, but all ten of the Irish were hung.

Every time I look at the selection I spot something new.

They are all so different, so many different techniques.
