Hand Dyed Fabrics

Starting to get ready for the second International Quilt Festival of Ireland

Dyeing like a mad thing!

So much work involved, cutting, soaking, dyeing and washing.

My favourite part is ironing the fabrics and seeing the amazing patterns created by the dyes.

 

Hard to believe there's 30 yrds. of fabric in these three basins!

Drying in the dark, twas about 10pm by the time all the pieces were washed, started about 5pm, had to cook dinner inbetween though, kids were complaining :)

Pressed, folded and ready for labels

Really love the dye patterns, could get lost in them.

 

Ready to start again, gonna do some more fat quarters, half and full yards.

Will hopefully get the cut today and soaked, ready for dyeing tomorrow.

So wil be ready to post results by end of weekend, if I'm not too busy eating Easter Eggs.
